Why can a postcode have two councils?

Some areas have both a district council and a county council. Where this applies, the result shows both council areas. In other areas, one council provides local services.

Is a council area the same as an electoral ward?

A council area contains several electoral wards. If you need your ward, find your electoral ward by postcode.

Where does the council information come from?

The search uses the local authority recorded for your postcode by Postcodes.io. A postcode can cover more than one address. If your address is close to a council boundary, confirm the result with the council.
